Terms and Conditions

Review and agree to our general terms below

You must inform Bath & Bark of any existing medical conditions your pet may have. If your pet appears unwell at the time of the appointment they will not be accepted due to the risk of cross contamination to other pets and their own well being.

We will not groom a pet that has had an anaesthetic within 48 hours or that has had a surgical procedure requiring stitches. The pet must be fully healed before a groom can take place.

Any pet that we deem to be in need of urgent veterinary treatment will receive this and you agree to be liable for the full cost of services as necessary.

Please ensure your pet has been toileted prior to their appointment.

Please ensure your pet is not fed within an hour of their groom.

While every care is taken of pets being groomed, any pet left with Bath & Bark is done so entirely at the owners risk.

We strive to exceed your expectations but if for any reason you are dissatisfied with your pets groom please let us know within 24 hours so we can do our up most to resolve it and ensure their card is updated for their next appointment.

You agree to give a minimum of 48 hours notice for any appointment cancellation.

If you turn up more than 15 minutes late to an appointment Bath & Bark reserve the right to cancel your appointment or to reduce the service offered as required.

Missed appointments with no communication prior to the appointment will be charged at 100% of the expected cost of the groom. This will need to be paid in full before another appointment can be booked.

Most pets will get fleas at least once during their lives. We do understand this but due to the extra cleaning requirements, if your pet is found to have fleas we will charge a fee of £15 in addition to the cost of the groom to cover the costs of flea shampoo for your pet and to disinfect equipment and fumigate the salon.

Matting can cause multiple skin and health problems and causes great discomfort to your pet. Any matting that can be brushed out, will be brushed out.

Severe matting can not be brushed out, it would cause great discomfort and pain to your pet to do so. Under the Animal Welfare Act 2007 we are not allowed to cause unnecessary suffering to an animal. This means if you bring your pet in with more than 20 minutes worth of dematting work, we are required by law to shave it down or refer you to your vet to do the same.

If severe matting is found we will contact you to discuss a solution. Minor matting that can not be brushed out may be clipped out. These areas will be blended into the rest of the coat.

Some pets find the grooming process very stressful. Bath & Bark is a force free grooming environment and we will always endeavour to ensure your pet has a calm and positive experience.

We will not push a pet through a grooming process before they are ready or if we feel there will be a long term detrimental impact to the pet. Because of this, although we will always do our best to complete each groom, if a pet will not tolerate a grooming process and we feel there is a risk to their safety or our own, we will end a groom.

We reserve the right to refuse to groom any pet at risk of harming itself or our staff. We must be informed prior to the appointment if your pet has ever bitten or displayed any signs of aggression and reserve the right to terminate a groom at any stage.
